Third Victim Says Retired Clarion Shop Teacher Raped Him at School in 1985

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – Additional charges have been filed against Gary Weckerly after a third victim came forward, claiming that the retired Clarion Area High School shop teacher sexually assaulted him in 1985.

State police in Clarion tell exploreClarion.com that a 40-year-old man came forward and provided information, detailing an incident that occurred in 1985 at Clarion Area High School in which he was allegedly sexually assaulted by retired shop teacher Gary Weckerly, 61, of Sligo.

The victim was 14-years-old at the time of the alleged assault.

One count of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Victim Under 16-years-old was filed at District Court 18-3-01 in Clarion.

Weckerly is also accused of raping an 11-year-old boy in 2006 and is facing 65 charges in that case, including 4 counts of rape, 4 counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a person less than 13-years-old, 56 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13-years-old, and 1 count of corruption of minors.

Another victim, a 39-year-old Rimersburg man, was allegedly sexually assaulted by Weckerly an unspecified number of times between 1976 and 1987.

The victim was between the ages of 3 and 14 at the time of the alleged assaults.
