<span style='color: red'>UPDATE:</span> Crews Extinguish Fire at Brookville Power Substation; Power Restored

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Crews responded to the scene of a fire Saturday night at the Penelec power substation along Pickering Street in Brookville, Jefferson County.

Jefferson County 911 says the call came in at 8:50 p.m. for a report of a transformer explosion at the substation, located behind Baker Auto Parts.

Brookville Fire Company was dispatched and quickly extinguish the fire.

Brookville Police and Jefferson County EMS also responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

According to FirstEnergy, over 500 customers in the Brookville area lost power as a result of the transformer explosion.

Power was restored to most customers by 11 p.m.
