Registration Open for Clarion Wrestling Camp

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Clarion Booster Wrestling Camp will be held June 6-9 at Clarion Area High School.

The camp is open to the first 100 wrestlers that sign up. The cost is $75. There are two sessions each day, the first from 9 a.m.-noon and the second from 1-4 p.m.

The camp is open to junior high and varsity wrestlers. Technique will be taught and there will be live wrestling at the end of each day.

The camp is being directed by Bobcats head coach Brian Luton and assistant Dylan Reinsel.

Camp coaches include Ken Nellis, Kyle Kiss and Nick DeLoia.

Nellis has been involved with Clarion wrestling for more than two decades. Nellis is a former Clarion University standout who finished 113-28-5 and is a four-time NCAA Division I qualifier. Nellis is a three-time PSAC champion and four-time EWL runner-up. He was a co-captain of the famed 1986 CUP wrestling team that ranked third in the country and finished 17-0-1. Nellis was  a two-time Pa. Class AAA champ at Shaler and coached seven D-I All-Americans while head coach at CUP.

Kiss was the head coach of the Carolina Wrestling Club from 2012-15 and was an assistant at the University of North Carolina during the 2014-15 seasons. Kiss joined the Clarion University staff last summer.

DeLoia was an assistant coach for the Pa. state champion Brookville Raiders. Deloia was the PIAA Assistant Coach of the Year and the NWCA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Camp counselors include former Pa. state champ Brock Zacherl, Brodie Zacherl and Mikey Pavasko.
