One-Year-Old Male Flown to Children’s Hospital for Skull Fracture; Police Suspect Aggravated Assault

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police in conjunction with Clarion County CYS are conducting an investigation into an injury that occurred to a one-year-old male while in the custody of the child’s mother.

Police say the child received an injury to his head and was transported to UPMC Northwest.

After a CAT scan was performed, the child was Air-Lifted to Children’s Hospital for a skull fracture and bleeding of the brain. Emergency surgery was performed, and the child remains in stable condition and currently in protective custody, according to police.

The incident occurred sometime between May 17 and May 18.

The investigation is continuing.

The name of the suspect was not released.
