Police: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself During Target Practice in Jenks Township

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say an accidental shooting occurred around 2:00 a.m. on June 12 on Bender Lane, in Jenks Township, Forest County.

According to police, a known, 26-year-old Wexford man “was target practicing during dim light conditions at a camp on Bender Lane, and a bullet deflected off a metal target and struck the man in the abdomen. The 9mm bullet was lodged in the victim’s abdomen.”

He was transported to Clarion Hospital via personal vehicle and then transferred to a hospital in Pittsburgh with non-life threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, the incident was found to be accidental.
