Venango County Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin woman was killed Wednesday night in a Butler County motorcycle crash.

State Police say the crash happened around 6 p.m. on William Flynn Highway in the Slippery Rock area.

The operator of the motorcycle — Donald James Phenicie, 43, of Franklin – was attempting to slow down as he approached traffic that was stopped on the highway.

Phenicie subsequently lost control of the bike. Both the operator and a passenger — Raegan Lynn Phenicie, 42, of Franklin — were thrown from the 2012 Harley-Davidson.

Raegan Phenicie was pronounced dead a short time later.

Donald Phenicie’s condition was not available as of early Thursday morning.

Neither occupant was wearing a helmet, according to police.
