CLARION, Pa. — Larry Jamison has joined Clarion University Foundation, Inc., as director of planned giving.

Jamison, a 1987 graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in marketing, has a professional background in banking. Most recently, he was branch manager for First United National Bank in Clarion, where he worked with customers to structure their finances to best suit their needs and increased the assets of the branch to become the second largest in the system, in a very competitive market.

As an alumnus, Jamison served on the alumni board, including two years as president. He has been a member of several committees and volunteer groups, including the inaugural College of Business Advisory Board, alumni representative on Clarion Students’ Association Board, wrestling’s Pin Club and the Athletic Task Force Committee.

“I have always remained close to the university. Being from the local area and seeing what the university does for the region has always made me proud,” Jamison said. “I felt the director of planned giving position afforded me the opportunity to speak with people about my alma mater and to use my financial and banking backgrounds to help bring the university and donors together.”

Jamison said giving opportunities are abundant at Clarion, and the complex issues of planned giving is where he’ll be able to help donors the most.

“As director of planned giving, Larry will work with alumni and friends of Clarion who may be interested in making philanthropic investments in the university through estate and tax planning vehicles,” said Michael Keefer, CEO of Clarion University Foundation, Inc. “His long-term relationship with Clarion, coupled with his career history in assisting community members with their financial needs, position Larry well to help alumni and other benefactors maximize their philanthropic investment.”

Jamison plans, in his first year, to reach out to as many donors as possible to further their relationship with Clarion University.

“I believe in a ‘pay-it-forward’ approach to philanthropy. We should be aware of the need to move Clarion University forward for the next generation and share our pride in our alma mater with them,” he said. “Our ‘college on the hill’ needs us all to share our time, talent and treasure to ensure Clarion will stand strong for generations to come.”

Jamison and his wife, Ann, who is executive staff assistant to the president of Clarion University, live in Summerville with their two daughters. He enjoys traveling and camping with his family and playing golf. He is also a fan of the Steelers and the Pirates.
