UPDATE: Leeper Man Seriously Injured in SUV vs. Motorcycle Crash

PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Leeper man was flown to a Pittsburgh area hospital following an SUV vs. motorcycle crash Saturday morning on Route 322 in Paint Township, Clarion County.

The accident happened around 9:58 a.m. in the area of Dairy Queen.

Clarion-based State Police say Allison L. Harriger, 19, of Sligo, was traveling east on Route 322 and failed to observe an oncoming motorcycle while attempting to turn left into a business.

The motorcycle — a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 operated by Jeffrey D. Barnes, 26, of Leeper — impacted the front right corner of Harriger’s 1999 Toyota SUV.

Police say the initial impact caused Barnes to “flip over” Harriger’s SUV and land on the roadway.

At approximately 10:05 a.m., Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 set up a landing zone for STAT MedEvac at Clarion University Memorial Stadium.

Barnes was flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment of serious injuries.

Harriger — who suffered minor injuries in the crash — was cited for failing to yield to an oncoming vehicle while turning left.

Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Fire Department and Shippenville-Elk Ambulance also responded to the scene.

Route 322 was closed for a short period of time following the accident.
