Inmate Allegedly Throws Feces at SCI Forest Employee; Faces Felony Aggravated Harassment Charges

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An SCI Forest inmate is facing aggravated harassment and related charges stemming from an alleged incident that occurred in Jenks Township, Forest County.

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 51-year-old Ronald Aurther Pruden, an inmate at SCI Forest, in Jenks Township, Marienville.

According to a criminal complaint, the shift commander at the State Correctional Institute (SCI) Forest, contacted PSP Marienville to report that “Ronald Aurther Pruden, an inmate, threw an unknown substance — believed to be urine or feces — on a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by SCI Forest.”

The complaint indicates that PSP officers secured the victim’s sweatshirt, and it was subsequently submitted to the PA State Police Erie Regional Laboratory. Forensic testing has identified the presence of fecal material on the sweatshirt.

The victim told police that she was distributing medications to inmates at the time of this incident — escorted by a corrections officer. When the officer opened the wicket to Pruden’s cell, Pruden allegedly pushed it open and threw a substance at her. It landed on her shirt and arms, the complaint states.

Surveillance video allegedly confirmed the incident, the complaint continues.

As a result of her investigation, Officer Watters, of PSP Marienville, filed a criminal complaint against Pruden in District Magistrate Daniel L. Miller’s office.

He faces a preliminary hearing on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Harassment By Prisoner, Felony 3
  • Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3
