Woman Allegedly Tells Police She Accidentally Bit Victim; Faces Assault, DUI Charges

FARMINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 42-year-old woman is facing assault, DUI, and related charges stemming from an incident that occurred in Farmington Township, Clarion County.

Court documents indicate Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 42-year-old Wendy Renee Sloss, of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:17 a.m. on June 22, Troopers Smith and Thorpe, of PSP Marienville, were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Allio Drive, in Farmington Township.

The complaint states that upon arrival, a known male at the scene was interviewed. He indicated that he obtained a “PFA (Protection From Abuse) against Sloss, and it was possibly turned into a no contact order.”

Trooper Thorpe also spoke with the female victim who was allegedly bitten on the right arm by Sloss. A recent abrasion was observed. “(A witness) stated that she was on the porch during the altercation…..and Sloss tried to push through. She bit (the victim) within five minutes of her arrival,” the complaint indicates.

Trooper Thorpe interviewed Wendy Sloss. She stated that “she came to the residence because she missed her dogs…and that she had accidentally bit the other woman on the porch,” according to the complaint.

She also stated that “she had about four beers and was not a big drinker,” the complaint continues.

Trooper Thorpe observed that Sloss’ “eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy….and a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her breath.” Following a series of field sobriety testing, it was noted that she was allegedly incompetent of driving safely and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and placed in the patrol vehicle. Sloss was transported to Clarion Hospital and agreed to have blood drawn, the complaint states.

As a result of his investigation, Trooper Thorpe filed a criminal complaint against Sloss in District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.

She faces the following charges:

  • DUI: General Impairment/Incompetent of Driving Safely- First Offense, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: High Rate of Alcohol (BAC .10 -.16)- First Offense, Misdemeanor
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
  • Driving Without a License, Summary
  • Failure to Notify Change in Address, Summary
