VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Officials say a Knox woman was killed and a Cranberry woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday night on State Route 157 in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Venango County 911 says the call came in around 5:57 p.m. for a report of an accident with entrapment and injuries on Route 157 near its intersection with Hill City Road.

Franklin-based State Police says Adonica A. Vigus, 32, of Cranberry, was traveling north on Hill City Road and failed to stop at the roadway’s intersection with State Route 157.

Vigus’ 2000 Ford Ranger entered the intersection and collided with the driver’s side of a 2012 Ford Escape traveling east on State Route 157. The vehicle was operated by a 16-year-old Seneca girl.

Vigus’ pickup truck then collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on State Route 157 — a 2008 GMC Yukon operated by Christopher J. Rusiewicz, 48, of Titusville.

A passenger in Vigus’ vehicle — Kayla M. Buller, 28, of Knox — was pronounced dead at the scene by Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh.

Vigus was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment of serious injuries, according to police.

Police say Rusiewicz was taken to UPMC Northwest for evaluation of minor injuries.

Two juvenile passengers in the 2012 Ford Escape were not injured.

Seneca VFD and Community Ambulance also responded to the scene.

STAT MedEvac was dispatched but was unable to fly due to weather conditions.

Route 157 was shut down for over 6 hours while authorities investigated the accident.

The roadway re-opened around Midnight.

Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
