BROOKVILLE, Pa. — WRC Senior Services is hosting its 21st Annual Charity Golf Scramble at Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville on Friday, September 9.

This year’s outing features a silent auction for a chance to win a round of golf and lunch for you and friends with accomplished amateur Nathan Smith. A native of Brookville, Smith is the only four-time champion of the USGA Mid-Amateur tournament.

As a result of his success at the Mid-Am, Smith has also competed in four Masters, one of the four major tournaments held annually on the PGA Tour, with his most recent trip coming in 2013.

In addition to his individual accomplishments, Smith has also been a member of three Walker Cup teams for the United States, winning twice. Smith was named the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association’s player of the decade for 2000-2010 and was inducted into the WPGA Hall of Fame in October 2015.

Each year, the proceeds from the golf outing go toward WRC’s charitable care fund for seniors who cannot afford the cost of their care.

The registration fee for the four person scramble is $500.00/team of 4.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a picnic-style lunch and a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m.

The fee includes greens fee, cart, lunch, snacks and a steak dinner and a mulligan during the round. Tickets can be purchased to participate in every contest and raffle and for a try at the putting contest.

Pinecrest Pro Shop Gift Certificates will be awarded to the 1st place team for low gross and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams for low net.

There will also be several skill prizes.

There is still room for golfers, and a variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses and organizations.

To become a sponsor or to golf in the event, call Morgan Davie at 814-220-2134 or visit www.wrc.org to download the registration form.
