Operator Injured as Tractor-Trailers Collide on I-80 in Richland Township

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle crash occurred on August 14, on Interstate 80 at mile marker 47, in Richland Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 3:05 p.m. on August 14, 43-year-old Naci Kristaq, of Jacksonville, Fla., was traveling east on Interstate 80, directly behind a 2006 Volvo.

Kristaq attempted to pass the 2006 Volvo, driven by 37-year-old Kevin X. Johnson, of Sacramento, Calif., and struck the vehicle from behind in a rear end collision, police say.

Police say Johnson’s vehicle then came to a controlled final stop on the south side of the roadway.

Kristaq’s 2010 Volvo then spun 90 degrees across both lanes of travel and struck the guide rail on the north side of the roadway. The vehicle came to a final stop facing north and blocked both eastbound lanes of travel.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Johnson was not injured.

Kristaq suffered a suspected minor injury; he was transported to Clarion Hospital.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

PSP Clarion were assisted on the scene by Emlenton Fire Department and PSP Franklin.
