MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 1:45 p.m. on August 16, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Route 68, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 74-year-old David P. Bortmes, of Karns City, and 31-year-old Corry D. Bellotti, of Tionesta, were involved in the collision.

Police say the crash occurred as a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Bortmes struck Bellotti’s 2012 Hyundai Elantra as both vehicles were traveling from Exit 62 eastbound off-ramp to State Route 68.

The front right of the Silverado struck the front left of the Elantra. The Silverado continued to travel approximately 40 feet in an easterly direction. The Elantra came to a rest at the point of impact facing northeast, according to police.

Both drivers and a passenger in David Bortmes’ vehicle — 44-year-old Wendy A. Bortmes, of East Brady — were using seat belts and were not injured.

According to police, Bortmes was not cited.
