Coroner Identifies East Brady Boating Accident Victims

police-line-1024x680EAST BRADY, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion County Chief Deputy Coroner Randall Stom has released the names of the three individuals who died as a result of a boating accident that occurred early this morning on the Allegheny River in East Brady, Clarion County.

According to Chief Deputy Coroner Stom, the following individuals were pronounced deceased at 8:25 a.m.:

  • Timothy Jones, 62, of Tarentum
  • Joe Wrbas, 48, of Butler
  • Chad Wilson, 34, of Prospect

The families of the deceased have been notified, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Stom.

One of the victims was completely underneath the boat, and the other two victims were partially underneath it.

A fourth individual was discovered pinned underneath the boat; he was taken to a Pittsburgh trauma center. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The accident was reported by an unidentified person around 6:55 a.m.

Authorities say the boat overturned near Phillipston – downstream from East Brady.

A river rescue crew and other emergency personnel were called to the scene.

The incident is under investigation, according to authorities.

The cause of death of the three men has not been determined.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
