RIDGWAY, Pa. (D9Sports) — The District 9 committee held its monthly committee meeting Aug. 10 at Aiello’s Cafe in Ridgway.The most noteworthy items to come from the meeting included:
- A motion was passed adopting the football playoff format for Class A
- The committee passed a motion eliminating the “opt out” clause in all sports
- The format for the 2016 – 2017 football playoffs was discussed. The football committee will meet prior to the next District 9 Committee meeting, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10 at Aiello’s Cafe with the football committee meeting at 8:30 a.m.
- Sportsmanship awards were awarded to Johnsonburg and Moniteau
- It was announced that a start date for Clarion University’s Tippin Gym Renovations has yet to be established
- The committee will investigate combining the District 9 2A and 3A Track and Field Championships into one sight and day
