State Police Identify Couple Found Dead in Franklin; Autopsies Scheduled for Tuesday

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police have released the identities of a Franklin couple found dead Saturday in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

State Police say an investigation is being conducted into the deaths of Barbara and John Heckathorne, both 63, of Franklin.

The couple was found deceased at their 1285 Mercer Road home on Saturday around 6:23 p.m.

Tpr. Michelle McGee told exploreVenango.com that investigators returned to the scene Monday morning; however, she was unable to reveal the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Venango County District Attorney’s Office declined to comment on the case citing an active investigation.

Calls to Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh were not returned.

State Police say additional details will be released upon the completion of autopsies that are scheduled for Tuesday in Erie.
