Elmer A. “Slim” Foster

Mr. Elmer A. “Slim” Foster, 88, formerly of State Hwy 27, Titusville, and a longtime resident of Grand Valley, passed away on Monday evening August 22, 2016, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville.

Mr. Foster was born on April 30, 1928, in Sugarcreek Twp., Venango County to the late Elmer L. and Alta L. Brown Foster. He married Elsie L. Monroe on March 19, 1955, in Chapmanville.

He was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War.

Mr. Foster was formerly employed in the oil fields and later worked at the National Forge in Irvine for 34 years as a crane operator.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Youngsville and the Amvets in Sugar Grove.

He is survived by his wife Elsie Foster a resident of the Rouse Suites in Youngsville; two daughters, Kathryn Rudnicki and husband Richard of Lorton, Va., Mary Farnsworth of Warren; a son, Wayne Foster of Ventura, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Foster was preceded in death by a brother, Hollis Foster.

Private services are being conducted for the family by the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, Pa. 16354 with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville.
