Fryburg Man Chases Down Truck Thief

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police are investigating the attempted theft of a motor vehicle that occurred on August 22, at Washington House in Washington Township, Clarion County.

Around 11:37 p.m. Monday, a 47-year-old known male actor drove away from Washington House in the truck of 22-year-old Justin Forsythe of Fryburg.

Forsythe, Owner/Manager at The Washington House, said he was unloading catering equipment when the incident took place.

“I was unloading some stuff, and I had the keys in the ignition. They got out of the bar and got in my truck and left,” Forsythe explained.

Forsythe then got into a different vehicle he owned and pursued the suspect.

The suspect reportedly drove the 2003 Chevrolet truck less than a mile from the scene and left it just off the north shoulder of Route 157.

Forsythe said the suspect had blown a brake line in the vehicle.

The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
