Investigators Release Details on Crash Involving Four Clarion Teens

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released details surrounding an August 23 crash involving four Clarion teenagers.

Clarion-based State Police say the accident happened around 7:21 p.m. and involved two 17-year-old male drivers.

Both vehicles were traveling west on State Route 322 in Clarion Township, just west of Pinewood Circle.

A 2008 Jeep Liberty, driven by one of the 17-year-olds, was coming to a stop as a result of a vehicle in front of him turning off the roadway.

The other 17-year-old’s oncoming 2015 Jeep Cherokee was unable to stop in time and subsequently struck the rear of the Jeep Liberty.

The teen driver of the Jeep Liberty and a 16-year-old male passenger were transported to Clarion Hospital for possible injuries.

The teen driver of the Jeep Cherokee and a 16-year-old male passenger escaped injuries.

Clarion Hospital EMS and Strattanville VFD assisted at the scene.

The Jeep Cherokee sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Mark’s Auto.

The teen driver of the Jeep Cherokee was charged with a traffic violation.
