Major Operations Changes in Store for Area Golden Living Centers

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – Golden Living Centers is transferring operations of its 14 facilities in Western Pennsylvania to Guardian Elder Care headquartered in Brockway, effective October 1.  Area Golden Living facilities include Clarion, Shippenville, Oil City, Titusville, and Warren.

“We have no official announcement on this and are transferring operations, not selling the buildings,” said Micelle Metzger, Golden Living Director of Communications, in Plano, Texas.

While there was no official statement, a letter to all residents at Golden Living Clarion dated Monday, August 29, from Executive Director John McCracken outlined the plans for the facility.

In the letter, McCracken said Golden Living decided to transition its living centers in western Pennsylvania to new operators. Golden Living Clarion will transition to a new operator, Guardian Elder Care, and will be known as Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center effective October 1.

“We are committed to working with the new operator to make the transition to new ownership a smooth one for our patients, residents, employees, and families,” wrote McCracken to residents. “We will continue to provide quality care and service to all of our patients and residents at Golden Living Center-Clarion and comply with all federal and state requirements as we transition to Guardian Eldercare. We will strive to make the impact on you as minimal as possible.”
