Woman Allegedly Pulls Knife on Man in Emlenton Store; Chases, Threatens to Kill Him

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) — A 26-year-old woman is facing assault, terroristic threats, and related charges stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in Emlenton Borough, Venango County.

According to online court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Brittany Nicole Meckley, of Cabot, Butler County.

According to a criminal complaint, on September 1, 2016, Brittany Nicole Meckley, went into a store in the borough of Emlenton at the time that her daughter’s father was working. She was allegedly wielding a long stick and allegedly struck the known man on the back left shoulder.

During the alleged assault, Meckley “kept telling the victim that she was going to kill him. She then pulled a kitchen-style knife from near her waistband and proceeded to chase the victim around the store,” the complaint states.

Eventually, the victim fled the store to the parking lot area. Meckley allegedly got into her vehicle with her two-month-old child inside and drove recklessly around the parking lot chasing the victim. The victim sought refuge behind a large border located on the perimeter of the property. Meckley then left the immediate area, the complaint indicates.

According to the complaint, Meckley allegedly texted the victim several times throughout the night from her cell phone, stating, “I’m going to kill you,” “I’ll find you some day and I’ll put a knife through your throat and watch the light leave your eyes. I’m OK with that. That’s how calm I am,” and “idk why ur shocked that I tried to kill you.”

Additional texts were sent to the victim by Meckley on September 2 that stated, “if u don’t come home I will kill u,” “u better prepare to die tomorrow,” and “I’m going to kill you tomorrow one way or another,” the complaint states.

Meckley allegedly sent texts to another individual stating that she was going to kill the victim, the complaint continues.

According to the complaint, around 9:30 a.m. on September 2, Meckley returned to the store looking for the victim. When a co-worker told Meckley that the victim wasn’t working at the time, Meckley allegedly told the co-worker that she was going to stab the victim. Meckley then went to the parking lot and sat in her car. The co-worker stated that Meckley had her child with her the entire time.

The co-worker subsequently called the police.

Upon the arrival of members of PSP Franklin and PSP Clarion, Meckley was located in the parking lot near her car. A knife and wooden stick were allegedly found in plain view in Meckley’s car, as was the two-month-old child. Meckley was taken into custody without incident, the complaint states.

She was arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on September 2 in front on Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey on the following charges:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
  • Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • Endangering Welfare of Children -Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $75,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.
