Woman Tells Police She Found Two Green Balls of K-2 in SCI-Forest Bathroom, ‘Thought They Were Gumballs’

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 30-year-old woman is facing felony drug and related charges after allegedly possessing K-2 at SCI-Forest, in Marienville, Jenks Township, Forest County.

Online court documents indicate that Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 30-year-old Julia Alexis Dobbs, of Verona, Pa.

According to a criminal complaint, around 3:00 p.m. on September 3, Officer Lesko, of PSP Marienville, was dispatched to SCI-Forest, located at 1 Woodland Drive, in Marienville, for a report of a female attempting to provide drugs to an inmate.

During the investigation, it was learned that Julia Alexis Dobbs was allegedly found to have concealed contraband and attempted to pass it to an inmate. Dobbs was taken into custody and transported to PSP Marienville.

Around 5:00 p.m. on September 3, Dobbs was read her Miranda Rights, which she acknowledged, understood, and signed, agreeing to make a statement.

Dobbs told Officer Lesko that “she went to the bathroom while visiting and saw what she thought were two green gumballs on the sink. She picked them up and realized it was not gum. At that point, she panicked and took the two green balls out of the bathroom because she felt that if she left them she would be blamed anyway. She stated that she sat with (an inmate) and told him what she found, and he told her to wrap them in a tissue and he would throw them away. When she handed the tissue to (the inmate), the guard came over and took it,” according to the complaint.

Around 3:35 p.m., Dobbs’ purse was searched and a partially smoked, home-rolled cigarette was allegedly discovered. When asked, “Dobbs admitted that it was her marijuana cigarette, and she had smoked it a couple days ago,” the complaint states.

“A sample of the substance in the balloons was NIK tested, and the test confirmed the substance to be K-2,” the complaint continues.

Court documents indicate criminal charges were filed against Dobbs in Judge Daniel L. Miller’s office.

She was arraigned at 10:00 p.m. on September 3, on the following charges:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Contraband/Controlled Substance, Felony 2
  • Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (two counts)
  • Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $45,000.00 monetary bail, Dobbs was lodged in the Warren County Jail on September 3.

On September 6, Dobbs was released on $45,000.00 unsecured bail because the hearing was moved, and “(Dobbs) has a job to secure,” according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on September 13 in front of Judge Miller.
