Annual Camp Coffin Halloween Party Announced

CRANBERRY, Pa. — The Scenic Rivers YMCA has announced their annual Camp Coffin Family Halloween Party at YMCA Camp Coffman on Friday, October 21, and Saturday, October 22.

Each year staff and volunteers from the Oil City YMCA and Clarion County YMCA host this party with a Halloween theme at Camp Coffman. The activities are suitable for families and kids of all ages.

Kids’ games and crafts, horse drawn wagon rides, hair raising hayrides, and a bewildering bunkhouse are all planned for families from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. both nights.

Families wishing for a non-scary adventure should arrive early in the evening. Those looking for a slightly creepy experience should arrive at dusk. This year’s theme is “zombies.”

Horse drawn wagon rides are led through the woods before dusk. Hair-raising hayrides take place after dusk and follow a trail through the woods. Prepare for a scare on the hayride after dark.

Pack the car and bring your friends and family. The cost is just $15.00 a carload. Flashlights and warm clothing are recommended. The party will be held rain or shine.

“We want to continue provide the community with an affordable and safe Halloween experience,” said Tom Spence, CEO of the Scenic Rivers Association. “Camp Coffin has provided Halloween fun for families for many years. The event supports our mission.”

Tom Spence has led the transformation of what was once an old Boy Scout camp to an updated outdoor destination, known as “Camp Coffman,” with unique features like zip lining, horseback riding, climbing, hiking, and paintball. The camp has become a popular local wedding destination and hosts weddings and other groups most weekends of the year.
