CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Clarion man is accused of assaulting a known woman during a domestic dispute at a residence on Robinwood Drive, in Clarion Township.

According to online court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Joshua Stewart Voden, of Clarion.

According to a criminal complaint, on September 19, PSP Clarion Troopers Cole and Buffone were dispatched to an inactive domestic incident at a residence on Robinwood Drive in Clarion Township. It was reported to police that the suspect — Joshua Voden — had left the scene, so while in route, officers canvassed the area with negative results.

When police arrived at the residence, the victim was located at her mother’s residence on Robinwood Drive. While interviewing the victim, Clarion Borough Police apprehended Voden in Clarion Borough on foot.

Trooper Cole interviewed the victim who stated they were at her residence on Robinwood Drive playing cards and having a few drinks. An argument between Voden and the victim escalated and became physical. Voden allegedly head-butted the victim and pushed her several times. Voden also allegedly choked her several times with his bare hands, making her lose consciousness once. The victim’s mother “had been trying to call her while this was going on and came over after it had ended and kicked (Voden) out of the house,” the complaint states.

Voden was taken to PSP Clarion where he was fingerprinted and photographed before being taken to Clarion County Jail on a violation of his probation.

Based on the investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against Voden in District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office.

He was arraigned at 1:00 p.m. on September 20, on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault, Felony 1
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on October 4, in front of Judge Quinn.
