Hilda M. Wilt McBride, 88, of Harrisville went to be with her Lord on September 22, 2016 at 10:50 p.m. at the Grove City Medical Center.

Hilda was born in Franklin on June 20, 1928 and she was the daughter of Lloyd and Treasure Wilt, she lived her early years throughout the Franklin area and the Oakhill area.

Hilda married Everett McBride Sr. on August 12, 1950 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before he passed away on March 25, 2007. Together they raised 5 children.

Hilda was a women who had a strong faith in the Lord, she was a past member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Nectarine. She loved to sing gospel songs and also played the harmonica in her earlier years. She raised her children to have a relationship with the Lord and was a steadfast mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She loved to be out in about visiting friends and family and doing a little shopping. She kept her kitchen well stocked with all her canned foods she would prepare from her summer gardens. Hilda’s kitchen was a busy place preparing meals, baked goods and treats for her family.

Loved ones left to treasure her memory are her children; Lonny L. McBride and his wife Nina of Grove City, Phillip N. McBride of Franklin, Sally M. Mahood of Virginia and Jody S. McBride and his wife Vickie of Clintonville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Phillip Donald McBride and wife Teresa of Strattenville, PA., Mrs. Jennifer R. Rupp and husband Joshua of Shippenville, PA., Michael J. McBride and wife Rebecca of Indianapolis, Ind., Tiffany L. MacDonald and husband Gary of North Carolina, Melissa Duffie and husband Sean of Stafford, Va., Mark A. McBride of Harrisville, PA. and Tabitha J. Brundage and her husband Steve of Franklin. 12 great grandchildren. 2 sister in laws Ester A. Vogan and her husband Richard of Harrisville and Joyce Stevens and husband Calvin of Sagertown and two brother in laws William McBride and his wife Carol of Harrisville and Victor McBride and his wife Barbara of New York. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Everett McBride Jr. on June 4, 1972, and a grandson Corey McBride, her son in law Kevin Mahood, , 3 brothers, 4 sisters and numerous brother and sister in laws. Hilda was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, Tuesday September 27, 2016 from 11-1 with the funeral service to follow at 1 with the Rev. Roy Tilton officiating.

Interment will take place at the Peters Chapel Cemetery.
