Mildred Audine “Deanie” McConnell

Mildred-Mcconnell-1474651124Mildred Audine “Deanie” McConnell, 85, of Rouseville, formerly of Lake City, passed away at Golden Living Center in Oil City, Friday, September 23, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Born April 18, 1931 in Sligo, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Amy Myers Wyman.

Deanie attended Oil City schools and worked as a bank teller for Security Peoples Bank in Lake City and later managed Petticoat Junction Boutique Shop in Girard.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Deanie was an active member of the Rouseville United Methodist Church, doing flowers every Sunday.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and knitting, making dishrags to be given away.

On February 6, 1954, she was married in her current home, the former parsonage of the Rouseville United Methodist Church, to Charles Earl McConnell, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Charles E. McConnell and wife Susan of Girard; a daughter Sheree Pegg McConnell and partner Jeff Schneider of Girard; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie McConnell of Lake City; five grandchildren, Thomas Pegg, Charlie McConnell and wife Danielle, Dan McConnell, Michael McConnell and wife Linnea, and Melissa White and husband Dale; and five great grandchildren, Willow, Weston, and Abigail McConnell, and David and Jonathan White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David McConnell, a grandson, John McConnell Pegg, two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at the Rouseville Community Center on Saturday, October 15, at 3 pm with the Rev. Randy Evans and the Rev. Gale Boocks officiating. The family will be receiving friends from after the service until 5 pm.

The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family suggests memorials in Deanie’s name be made to the Venango County Association for the Blind, 3035 SR 257, Seneca, PA 16346 or to the Rouseville Volunteer Fire Department, 8 Spring Street, Rouseville, PA 16344.
