William K. Womer

OI1993484444_womerbillWilliam K. Womer, 69, of 274 Billingsley Rd. Franklin, PA. ,died at 12:12 P.M. Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a brave courageous fight with cancer.

Born Nov. 30, 1946 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Thomas & Virginia Goodwill Womer.

Bill was a graduate of Oil City High School.

Mr. Womer was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Sgt. in the Vietnam War.

He was married on Aug. 27, 1966 in St. Joseph’s Church to the former Karen L. “Cathy” Gayetty and she survives. They recently celebrated 50 Years of marriage together.

Bill worked as an RSA, retiring from Polk Center.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates Fan.

He enjoyed spending time with family and attending his grandchildrens sporting events.

He is survived by three children and their spouses Brenda Wenner & her husband Jeff of Oil City, Missy Hargenrader & her husband Kurt of Oil City, and Bill Womer Jr. & his wife Jodi of Franklin; 6 grandchildren Kaity & Carlee Wenner, Tanner & Lily Hargenrader, and Will and Sami Womer; one brother Robert Womer of Oil City; two sisters Mary Ann Croyle of Seneca and Sue Raygor & her husband Todd of Scottdale, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Jan Urban & her husband Bob of Oil City, Nancy Russell of Franklin, Carole Morrow of Franklin, and Delores Gayetty of Franklin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law’s Randall Croyle, Boyd “Pete”Morrow , Kenneth Russell and Marvin Gayetty.

Friends will be received in the Reinsel Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Randy Kightlinger, VNA Chaplain, Presiding.

Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Venango VNA Foundation or to the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

His family would like To thank VNA Hospice and the Cancer Center at UPMC Northwest for the excellent care that he received.
