CU’s Braunagel PSAC Southwest Volleyball Athlete of the Week for Second Straight Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second straight week, Clarion volleyball Taylor Braunagel was recognized by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference as the junior outside hitter was named the PSAC Southwest Athlete of the Week for Sept. 27.

Braunagel was utterly dominant in the opening weekend of PSAC play, leading they way to a pair of 3-0 victories over East Stroudsburg and Kutztown. Braunagel averaged a team-best 4.00 kills per set and hit .455 over two matches, recording 24 total kills on 44 swings with only four errors. Her best performance came against the Golden Bears on Saturday, when she added 15 kills on 22 attempts with only one error for a .636 hitting percentage. She also added a total of three aces over the weekend — one against the Warriors and two against the Golden Bears.

For the season, Braunagel is averaging a team-best 3.14 kills per set and is hitting .218, with more attempts than any other Clarion attacker. She also ranks third on the team with a 0.49 blocks per set average.
