SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. — On Tuesday, October 4, Representative Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) will be hosting a legislative hearing on the manufactured home industry at Colony Factory Homes in Shippenville.

The event is from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

The manufactured home industry, a major employer in Clarion County and the surrounding region, is facing regulatory and economic challenges.

Oberlander has invited the House Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), to a legislative hearing in Shippenville so that legislators across the Commonwealth can learn more about the economic impact this industry has on the region, as well as how legislative and regulatory decisions made in Harrisburg impact its ability to grow.

Oberlander is hosting the hearing to not only educate the Legislature on the industry, but to ensure continued growth and success of this manufacturing field, which is vital to the local economy.

Following the hearing, legislators will be given the opportunity to tour Colony Factory Homes.

Oberlander and Benninghoff will be joined by several House members from across the state. Testifiers will include Mary Gaiski, Manufactured Housing Association; Barry Shein, Commodore Corporation; John Fanelli, Riverview Homes Inc.; Jill Foys, Northwest Commission; Wayne Brosius, Clarion County commissioner; and William Henry III, Showcase Homes.

A tour of Colony Factory Homes will follow.

Colony Factory Homes is located at 20510 Paint Blvd., Shippenville, Pa.
