Three Escape Injuries in Paint Township Crash

PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — No injuries were reported in a crash early Monday morning near Route 66 in Paint Township, according to Clarion-based State Police.

Shawn Weaver, 27, of Belle Vernon, Pa. was driving a 1999 Freightliner at 6:16 a.m. Monday on Paint Boulevard near Route 66 when he approached a sharp curve to the right and braked. The rear axles slid to the left and into the oncoming lane striking a 2013 Ford Escape driven by Harriette Peters, 66, of Marienville, Pa.

The Freightliner had minor damage, but the Escape had major damage and had to be towed from the scene.

All occupants, including Henry Peters, 73, of Marienville, a passenger in the Escape, were wearing seat belts and did not suffer injuries.

Weaver was sighted for driving at an unsafe speed.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Shippenville-Elk Ambulance.
