Oberlander to Host Veterans Expo on October 27

CLARION, Pa. – To both honor local men and women who served in our nation’s military and to provide them with direct access to many of the programs and services available especially for them, Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) will host a Veterans Expo on Thursday, October 27.

“As the wife of a military veteran, I am in a unique position to know about the types of services and programs our veterans and their families may be in need of,” Oberlander said. “I have met with many veterans and their loved ones over the years and have helped put them in touch with a number of agencies that can help with a wide array of issues. This expo is designed to give them and their family members one-on-one access to these services and expose them to others they may not have known existed.”

The event, to be held at Trinity Point Church of God near Tractor Supply in Clarion, will run from 3-6 p.m. During that time, government agencies and nonprofit organizations that offer services to veterans and active-duty military personnel will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Among the exhibitors participating will be those related to financial services, business and employment, health care, mental health, legal services, drug and alcohol programs, disaster preparedness and senior-related services.

“I encourage not just veterans and their families to attend, but those who are on active duty in the military and their loved ones,” Oberlander added. “We are very fortunate to have hundreds of dedicated veterans in the 63rd District, and this is just one way in which my office can reach out to these heroes, thank them for their service and provide a helping hand.”
