Watch highlights from Saturday’s game

Blewitt was perfect on seven placements against the Yellow Jackets and provided the winning points on a 31-yard field goal as time expired. He accounted for a career-high 13 points, converting 3-of-3 field goals (34, 41 and 31) and 4-of-4 PATs. It was the second consecutive year Blewitt was responsible for the winning margin over Georgia Tech. In 2015, he kicked a school-record 56-yard field goal to lift the Panthers to a 31-28 victory in Atlanta.

With his three field goals, Blewitt became the Panthers’ all-time career leader with 52. He eclipsed the prior school record of 50 field goals set by Conor Lee (2006-08). Blewitt is already Pitt’s all-time kick scoring leader with 315 points. This is the third time in his career he has been named the ACC Specialist of the Week.

O’Neill tasted a rare moment of end-zone glory and also did the dirty work in the trenches in Pitt’s win. The Panthers’ starting right tackle, O’Neill scored the game’s first points when he took a designed throwback lateral 24 yards for a touchdown just 3:08 into the game.

He then settled into his more traditional responsibilities and spearheaded a Pitt offensive front that produced 407 yards (215 rushing and 192 passing). The Panthers’ ability to run the ball (5.1 yards per carry) allowed them to win the time of possession battle against the Yellow Jackets (30:21 to 29:39).

It is O’Neill’s first ACC weekly offensive lineman honor.
