Dominic C. Pacilli

2746361001-2Dominic C. Pacilli, of Wilmington, passed away on October 6, 2016. He was born on November 17, 1930 in Franklin, PA to Nicola and Geraldine Pacilli.

Mr. Pacilli served in the United States Naval Submarine Force for 27 years, and retired in 1975 as Master Chief Torpedo Man.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret and Helen, his brother Pasquale, and grandson Brandon. He is survived by his sons, Dino of Boise, Idaho, Antonio and wife Jeanne of Chandler, Arizona, Mario of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vittorio and wife Kimberly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Angelo Pacilli of Albuquerque, New Mexico, step-son William Hedvig of Fairfax, Virginia, step-daughters Della Scarbrough and husband Delbert of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Stephanie Pedroni and husband John of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Heidi Lamy and husband Michael of Virginia Beach, Virginia, 19 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Dominic was a member and past-president of the Sons of Italy in Vallejo, California and a member of the Submarine Veterans Mare Island Base in Vallejo, and the Submarine Veterans Coastal Base, the Fleet Reserve Association Branch # 299, the VFW Post #2573 and the American Legion, Post 10, of Wilmington, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
