KSAC Large School Division Title Now On the Line as Clarion Visits Karns City on the RRR Roadhouse Explore Radio Game of the Week

KARNS CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Two weeks ago, the Clarion at Karns City football game, which will be the Week 7 Explore Radio RRR Roadhouse KSAC Football Game of the Week, seemed like just an interesting KSAC Crossover contest.

But then the bombshell dropped the KSAC, without any bylaws that would have authorized the Bobcats going to the Large School Division, had been allegedly moved to the Large School Division prior to the start of the season.

While the circumstances of the move are hidden in secreacy and the story is bizarre at best, it does mean that this week’s game takes on a whole new meaning with the Large School Division on the line with both teams entering the contest unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. Clairon is 6-0 overall and Karns City is 6-1.

Fans can catch all the action starting with the Kerle Tire Pregame Show at 6:30 p.m. with Mike Kalinowski on the call. Kalinowski will be joined in the booth for the first time this season by Dave Katis, the former Clarion University Athletic Director and a former football coach at the school — don’t worry, nothing is wrong with the Governor, he is just taking a couple of weeks off to enjoy himself. Kickoff from Diehl Stadium in Karns City is set for 7 p.m.

Fans can listen to the game live on exploreClarion.com as well as with the ExploreRadio/ExploreClarion app (fans should click on the ExploreClarion feed on the app for the game). Fans who don’t already have the app can download it for both Apple and Android.

Clarion is a balanced team offensively led by running backs Colton Rapp and Mike McCloskey, quarterback Spencer Miller and wide receiver Ty Burford not to mention an ever-improving offensive line. Rapp ran for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Redbank Valley last week.

Karns City has an explosive offense that featured the D9Sports.com Co-District 9 Player of the Week from last week, Chandler Turner, who ran for 308 yards and four touchdowns on just 12 carries in a victory at C-L. Kaiden Powers added 129 yards and two scores on just four touches in the game showing the explosive nature of the offense. Quarterback Jacob King missed the game against C-L, and his status for Friday is unknown. If he can’t go, Cullen Williams, who split time with King at QB last year, will once again step in.

Following the game, tune into the Advanced Disposal ExploreRadio Overtime Show, which can be heard on D9Sports.com and the ExploreRadio app (ExploreRadio channel) as well as 103.3 FM in Brookville and 104.1 FM in Punxsutawney.
