Police Report Hit and Run in Perry Township

PERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a hit and run crash occurred along Route 368 in Perry Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 1:42 a.m. on October 9, Billy J. Burk, 33, of Rimersburg, was traveling east on Route 368 when a deer entered the travel lanes from the south side of the road.

Police say Burk’s 1997 Mercury Villagerimpacted the deer, causing disabling damage to the vehicle.

Burk and a passenger — Amy L. Burk, 32, also of Rimersburg — were not injured.

Police say Burk left the scene without contacting emergency services. He was charged with failure to report an accident to police.

Police were assisted at the scene by West Freedom Volunteer Fire Department and Hovis Towing.
