Drive-By UTV Shooting in Jefferson County Sends Man to Hospital

PINECREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred on October 16, along Sulgar Road in Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 1:50 p.m. on October 16, a 64-year-old man was walking along Sulgar Road in Pinecreek Township when he observed a side-by-side utility vehicle traveling from one side of the road to the other.

The victim alleged that the two white males in the side-by-side were both in their mid-late twenties and had medium-length brown hair. One of the males was reportedly wearing an orange shirt or jacket.

The side-by-side was an unknown make or model and was orange with a black hard-top roof and no doors.

Police say the victim stated that six or seven shots were fired by one of the occupants in the side-by-side. When the vehicle drove by, the victim reportedly heard approximately 7 additional shots as it continued down Sulgar Road toward Route 322.

The victim then reportedly realized his left hand had been shot. He drove to the hospital, and hospital personnel contacted police.

The investigation is ongoing.
