CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a one-car crash occurred yesterday morning at the intersection of Stoney Lonesome and Hartman roads, in Clarion Township.

According to police, around 10:10 a.m., Braxston Stewart, 18, of Rimersburg, was traveling northeast in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt on Stoney Lonesome Road.

Stewart was reportedly attempting to negotiate a left curve when he lost control of his car. It slid straight on the wet and leaf-covered roadway and then struck a stop sign on Hartman Road.

The stop sign was reportedly used as a ramp and caused the front end of the vehicle to get stuck on the top of the guide rail where it came to a final rest.

Stewart was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle was towed by Horvath’s Towing.

Clarion Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
