Robert ‘Bruce’ Leckemby

1866057_profile_picRobert “Bruce” Leckemby, 72, of Las Cruces, died Saturday, October 8, 2016, after a long battle with diabetes and heart illness.

Bruce was born on December 3, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Robert and Erna Leckemby. When Bruce was eight years old he moved with his parents to Mercer County PA. Robert graduated from Lakeview High School in 1961 and later from Clarion University of PA with a degree in Geography. Bruce later worked an electrician for Sharon Steel and for years at Polk Center, in Polk, PA.

He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and boating.

Bruce and Janet Mcdonald were married in 2004 at Pioneer Park, in Las Cruces, NM.

He is survived by his wife Janet, of the family home, daughter Cathy Eggleston, four grandchildren, Brandon, Damien, and Micah of Las Cruces, and Kaylee of New Castle PA, sister Judy Drew (Charles) of Sandy Lake PA, sister Linda (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and son Michael.

Services will be held at a later date to be announced. Interment will be at Masonic Cemetery Mausoleum.
