Driver Flees Scene After Car Shears Off Utility Pole, Crashes into Road Signs

FOXBURG, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a 57-year-old Foxburg man fled the scene of an accident on October 30.

October 30 around Midnight, Everett Lehnortt, 57, of Foxburg, failed to negotiate a left turn while traveling west on State Route 58 in Foxburg Borough.

Lehnortt’s 2002 Saturn Vue exited the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing it to shear off at ground level.

The vehicle continued traveling approximately 40 feet before colliding with two road signs.

After striking the road signs, Lehnortt fled the scene as he continued driving west on State Route 58.

He was located shortly after the crash, according to police.

Charges are pending.
