Vehicle Crashes into Carport off Route 66, Flees Scene

FARMINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a hit and run crash occurred early yesterday morning on State Route 66, at its intersection with Haggerty Drive, in Farmington Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 2:10 a.m. on October 30, an unidentified vehicle was traveling southbound on Route 66 when the unknown driver attempted to make a right turn onto Haggerty Drive.

Police say it was apparent that the vehicle’s speed was too great to negotiate the turn and struck an embankment on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle proceeded up the embankment and into a residence’s carport. The vehicle crashed through the carport and continued on Haggerty Drive, as indicated by the debris carried throughout the roadway from the point of the vehicle’s impact with the carport.

Anyone with information concerning this accident is asked to contact PSP Marienville at 814-927-5253.
