Jefferson County Man Jailed After Allegedly Smashing Woman’s Head Against Window, Throwing Her Out of Car in Front of Kids

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Brockway man is facing several charges included aggravated assault and kidnapping after allegedly smashing a woman’s head against a car window in front of her two children.

According to court documents, DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 33-year-old Daniel Robert Holt, of Brockway.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:30 p.m. on October 28, PSP DuBois were dispatched to Penn Highlands DuBois for the report of a domestic assault that resulted in the victim being thrown from a vehicle.

Police spoke with the victim who stated that she was in a physical altercation the previous night around 9:00 p.m. with her boyfriend Daniel Robert Holt, who had been drinking, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, the incident began on Olivio Drive, in Brockway. The victim stated that Holt asked her to go for a ride. She said “no,” and he threatened to take their two-year-old son if she did not go. The victim said that she, Holt, their two-year-old son, and her four-year-old son went for a ride on Clayplant Road, away from Brockway.

The complaint states that “Holt then began hitting (the victim) and smashed her head into the window until the window broke. Then, Holt stopped the car, grabbed the victim by the throat, threw her out, and zip-tied her legs.”

Holt allegedly threatened to kill the victim multiple times throughout the incident, the complaint indicates.

The victim “suffered bruising from being bound at her feet, grabbed around her neck, and grabbed at the arms. She was bruised and lacerated from head to toe,” the complaint continues.

Based on the investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against Holt in District Judge David B. Inzana’s office.

He was arraigned at 8:58 a.m. on October 29, on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault, Felony 1
  • Kidnap to Inflict Injury/Terror, Felony 1
  • Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
  • Unlawful Restraint/Serious Bodily Injury, Misdemeanor 1
  • Unlawful Restraint/Involuntary Servitude, Misdemeanor 1
  • Endangering Welfare of Children — Prevent/Interfere With Making Report, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • False Imprisonment, Misdemeanor 2
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $75,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. on November 17 with Judge Inzana presiding.
