Evelyn R. Wade, 91, formerly of Seneca, died at 8:16 pm, Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Born February 6, 1925 in Rouseville, she was a daughter of the late Edward A. and Myrl Coxson Whitman.
Mrs. Wade was a member of the Van United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed bowling in the Lady Birds Afternoon Bowling league.
Mrs. Wade loved baking apple pies and took great pride in her immaculate home.
On July 9, 1947, she married Robert C. Wade, who preceded her in death on June 8, 2012.
Surviving are three daughters, Rita Santee and husband William of Cranberry, Nancy Eichholtz and husband Harold of Tyrone GA, and Pastor Diane Whitman and husband Frank of Franklin; one son, Jerry Wade of Augusta GA; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are 3 half-brothers, 1 step brother, 3 step sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband., she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Conrad Whitman, Donald Whitman and Virgil Whitman; 1 sister, Irene Eckel; and 1 step sister.
Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 3 pm with Pastor Diane Whitman, Mrs. Wade’s daughter and pastor of the Polk Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Polk Presbyterian Church or the Van United Methodist Church.
