ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 322 in the Van area late Friday morning.

Franklin-based State Police say the crash occurred around 11:10 a.m.

Investigators say a vehicle traveling eastbound collided with a westbound vehicle that was sliding sideways into the eastbound lane.

Two occupants in the westbound vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

“This investigation is ongoing and further information will be released upon notification of next of kin,” said Trooper Malek in a release issued Friday afternoon.

The accident shut down a portion of Route 322 from Hill City Road to Route 38 for over 3 hours. Route 322 reopened around 2:30 p.m.

Community Ambulance Services, Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, and Rockland Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
