CLARION, Pa. – Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 hosted students from Brookville, Clarion, Clarion-Limestone, Cranberry, Keystone, Oil City, Redbank Valley and Titusville school districts at the 2016 Election Extravaganza.

During the event, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students competed in a variety of activities including debates, impromptu speeches, voting, artwork, and a craft.
In the debate, fourteen teams competed and each team could have up to four members. The debate was judged by Clarion University Professor Jim Lyle and his students from the Communications Department.

- Second: Cranberry — Ethan Merryman, Jonah Dean, Dane Wenner and Jeremy Hacherl
- Third: Redbank Valley — Brooklyn Edmonds, Elena Root, Bailey Laughlin and MaKayla McGuire
Students were also recognized as ‘Outstanding Orators” from each debate:

Twenty-two students participated in the Impromptu Speech Contest which was judged by Clarion University Professor Jim Lyle and his students from the Communications Department.

There were 59 total art projects submitted and entered. Categories included: 3D-Sculpture, Sketch, Painting, and Photograph. Art projects were judged by the VIZARTZ Club members from Clarion University.

In the Informational Poster Display Board category, there were twenty-four projects entered in two categories, Politics or Government which were judged by the Dr. Jesse A. Haight, Assistant Professor of Education and his students from Clarion University of PA, in the Social Studies Department.
