New Bethlehem Man Accused of Grabbing Steering Wheel of Moving Car, Endangering Welfare of a Child

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem man is facing child endangerment charges after an alleged incident that occurred in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 21-year-old Jeremy Michael Good, of New Bethlehem.

According to a criminal complaint, a known woman stated that she pickup up Jeremy Good to go to a local mall for the Halloween parade. While at the mall, Good and the known woman engaged in an verbal altercation, and “Good then grabbed her arm and started yelling at her to the point that other people stopped what they were doing and were looking at them.”

The complaint indicates the known woman stated that when they were leaving the mall in the parking lot, the verbal altercation continued. “While (the known woman) was driving Good back to his vehicle, he started hitting the window with his elbow and then grabbed the steering wheel and keys. Good then ripped the dash off the car and threw it in the back seat, hitting the baby.”

According to the complaint, the known woman then “stopped the vehicle and told Good to get out. Good then attempted to take the baby, but (the known woman) got in front of him to stop him. Good then grabbed (the known woman) and threw her up against the passenger mirror.”

At that time, a known witness told Good that she was calling the police. “He then got into his vehicle and sped off,” the complaint continues.

No recent physical injuries to the victim were observed, according to police.

The known witness confirmed the incident that occurred at the local mall. She also observed Good grabbing the steering wheel and throwing things around in the car. She stated that she heard Good say that he was going to take the baby, according to the complaint.

Based on the investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against Good in District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.

He faces the following charges:

  • Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)
  • Disorderly Conduct-Unreasonable Noise, Summary

A preliminary arraignment is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on December 19.

A certified summons was issued to Good on November 16.
