Polite, Harden-Pulliam, Pearyer Lead Clarion U. Women’s Hoops Past West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (EYT) — Tyria Polite, Amesha Harden-Pulliam and Quorea Pearyer combined to score 54 points to lead the Clarion University women’s basketball team to a 67-58 win at West Chester.

Polite, who hit four 3-pointers, led all scorers with 20 points while adding four steals, three assists and a block.

Harden-Pulliam and Pearyer each added 17 tallies with Harden-Pulliam also contributing four assists and three steals and Pearyer six rebounds, five assists and four steals.

As a team, Clarion’s defense stole the ball 16 times while forcing 25 West Chester turnovers. Those turnovers led to 18 points.

Madison Torresin had 17 points and 12 rebounds for West Chester, her third double-double of the season. Alexis Anderson added 15 points.

Clarion (2-3 overall, 1-1 PSAC West) led by three, 47-44, going to the fourth quarter and then used a 10-3 run in the quarter to pull away from West Chester (1-3, 1-1), which knocked off Gannon Saturday while Clarion lost at East Stroudsburg.

The Golden Eagles are back in action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny.
