58347c2066a0aHazel M. Garner Thompson, 83, of Eau Claire, Pa., passed away suddenly at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on November 21, 2016.

Born in Eldorado, Pa., on July 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Marie Sedwick Garner.

Hazel was a longtime member of the Six Points Church of God of Prophecy. In her many years of devotion to her church and community she had been a choir member, women’s missionary leader, vacation Bible school and a Sunday school teacher. She volunteered at the church food bank as well as the thrift shop. She was an Asst. Clerk for the Election Board for Eau Claire Borough for many years.

Hazel loved to read, had a beautiful singing voice, was patient, generous, kind and had a listening ear to all.

Hazel married Wilbert P. “Wib” Thompson on July 21, 1951 whom preceded her in death on April 13, 2016.

She and her husband were owner/operator of Garner’s Laundry Mat on RT 38 near Eau Claire for many years.

Surviving are Three daughters: Mrs. Rev. Ron (Cheryl) Roudebush Sr. of Karns City; Mrs. Paul (Janice) Jones of Emlenton; and Mrs. Jay (Denise) Mohn of Karns City.
One son: Wilbert C. “Bill” (Julie) Thompson of Buffalo, NY.
She is also survived by 13 Grand Children, 25 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Two Sisters: Beverly Benz of Winter Haven, Fl.; and Lynda Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a Grandson Jay “JD” D. Mohn Jr.
