John C. Hoover

blobJohn C. Hoover, 56, a well-known resident of 1020 Old Mercer Road, Franklin, died peacefully at 9:44 PM Thursday, November 24, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born November 14, 1960 in Franklin, a beloved son of Zeetah F. Sharrer Hoover and the late Paul A. Hoover.

He graduated in 1979 from Franklin High School.

John had worked for more than 33 years at Conair of Franklin. He began his employment with Conair as a warehouse laborer, working his way up to Senior Parts Analyst.

John attended the Uniontown Heights Sunday School.

He was a member of Franklin Elks Lodge B.P.O.E.#110, the Franklin Eagle’s Club and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.

John was an avid outdoorsman and hunter all his life. He looked forward to the fun times he spent in the woods hunting, especially with his four children. He loved riding his motorcycle, along with his longtime friend, Larry Stover. John also enjoyed taking vacations with his wife Tami and their longtime friends, Dan and Tammie Shaffer.

He enjoyed sharing fun times with his family and friends, and always took great pride working outside his home. His beloved granddaughters, though, were always his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by so very many.

He was married June 26, 1982 in Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin by Reverend John Sass to the former: Tami L. Coulter, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 34 years, he is survived by three sons: Craig E. Hoover and his wife Heather, Jeremy E. Hoover and James E. Hoover and his fiancé, Megan McClain, and by a daughter: Cynthia E. Hoover, all of Franklin; in addition to his granddaughters: Emilee, Anna and Charlee Hoover, whom he absolutely adored.

Also surviving is his mother, Zeetah Hoover of Franklin, his sister, Pam Hoover and his brother, Bob Hoover and his wife Tammy, his sister-in-law, Toni Coulter, nieces: Marci Hoover and fiancé Wally Stone and their children: Mykah, Aleyah and Markus and Staci Dunmire and her daughter Payden, and nephews: David Sibble and son, Aaiden and Colt Hughes all also of Franklin. Also surviving is a special family member, Luke Behe of Rocky Grove; in addition to many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his infant brothers: Craig and Charles Hoover, his niece, Cristi Hoover, a nephew, Corey McBride, his mother-in-law, Ann L. Migis, his father-in-law, Jack Coulter and numerous aunts and uncles.

Friends may call Wednesday 4-9 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 PM in Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street, Franklin with Mr. Allen Sharrer, personal friend of the Hoover family officiating.

Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
