ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred around 4:05 p.m. on November 23, on Interstate 80 West, east of Gerwick Road, in Allegheny Township, Butler County.

Police say this crash occurred as 25-year-old Gerald L. Lancaster, of Malden, Ma., was traveling west on I-80 in the left lane in a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx and failed to maintain its appropriate lane of travel.

The car left the north side of the roadway where it struck an embankment with the passenger’s side rear portion, then overturned, and came to a final rest facing south in the grass on the shoulder of the roadway, according to police.
